Accessibility aids enable people with reduced mobility to enter or leave their surroundings safely and easily. These aids facilitate access and help to overcome barriers. The most common access aids include ramps, stair lifts, elevators, (automatic) door openers and automatic sliding doors.

Benefits for older people:
Accessibility aids are crucial for older people who often struggle with limited mobility or strength. They can maintain their quality of life and independence. Overcoming steps or narrow doors can be a real challenge for older people, which in the worst case can lead to dangerous falls or the need for constant assistance.

For older people who are dependent on a wheelchair or walking aid, stair lifts or elevators are essential for reaching floors in a building. These aids reduce the risk of accidents and help to promote independence. In addition, door openers or electronic locking systems can make everyday life much easier for people with limited hand strength, as they no longer have to rely on their strength to open or close doors.

Accessibility aids offer older people an easy way to increase their mobility and make everyday life independent and safe. They play a key role in removing barriers and promoting a more inclusive society. By using accessibility aids, older people can enjoy their familiar surroundings for longer and retain their independence.
